Democratic Green Party of Rwanda Hosts the East African Greens Congress

For Immediate Release:

Kigali, 7  November 2013, - The Democratic Green Party Rwanda, will host the first ever East African Greens Congress, this Friday, 8th and Saturday 9th November 2013, at Bloom Back Hotel, Kigali.

This event will bring together Greens from the Ecological Party of Uganda, Mazingira Green Party of Kenya, Burundi Green Movement and the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda.

The main outcome from this congress will be the establishment of the East African Greens Federation. This is in line with the regional spirit of the East African Community and the African Greens Federation.

The congress, after adopting the East African Greens Constitution, will elect an executive committee and thereafter, discuss and adopt an action plan for enforcing the green ideology in the East African Community states and find ways of how this federation will partner with the East African Community’s secretariat in Arusha-Tanzania.
