International Greens call for democracy and Green action!

International Green delegates from 70 countries met in Dakar, Senegal, 29th March - 1st April, for the first ever Global Green Congress held in Africa (www.dakar2012.org) and tackled issues such as solidarity, democracy, biodiversity, climate change, and the future of the Global Greens parties.

 

This Global Greens gathering was preceded by the 2nd African Greens Congress on 28th and 29th March 2012, which was supported by Green Forum Sweden and the 3rd Global Young Greens Congress, from 27th-29th March 2012.

COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE DE LA FEDERATION DES VERTS D’AFRIQUE SUR L’ESCLAVAGISME EN LIBYE

C’est avec une grande stupéfaction et une profonde indignation que les responsables de la Fédération des Verts d’Afrique (FeVA), ont vu à travers les médias, des images choquantes et insoutenables des actes d’esclavagisme en Libye. Ces images mettent en exergue  une vente aux enchères de ressortissants africains originaires des pays membres de la CEDEAO vendus comme du bétail par des nationaux Libyens. Un trafic d’être humain, ignoble et digne d’une époque révolue. Qualifiés de crime contre l’humanité, ces actes  sont passibles de la Cour Pénale Internationale (CPI).

Dakar: the electoral process scrutinized in Green Academy

The Senegalise Greens, hosted the West African Green Academy, from 15 to 17 September 2017, at  Dakar Press House. The theme of the academy was: "Elections: Local Solutions for a global mess ". This event was supported by the Belgian Greens -GROEN and brought together presidents and representatives of  member parties of the Federation of Green Parties in West Africa (FéPEV-RAO) and also the president of African Green Federation. Participants came from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Rwanda.

Report of the African Greens Federation meeting in Liverpool

The African Green Federation (AGF) had a full day meeting on the 29th March and half day meeting on 30th March 2017 in Liverpool in prelude to the Global Greens congress.

The first day meeting was held at Jurys Inn and the second day at the ACC congress venue. The meeting began with introduction of delegates present, then presentation of the agenda with some amendments, it was chaired by Dr Frank Habineza, AGF President.

New Year's Message: African Greens Federation will grow stronger in 2017.

The African Greens Federation wishes to thank all its members and partners for the great achievements realized during 2016 and looks forward to greater accomplishments in 2017.

During 2016, AGF strengthened and consolidated its regional structures by conducting several capacity building workshops and congresses in all the different five African regions.

East African Greens Federation held Campaigns, Election and Women trainings as well as an Ordinary Congress in Kigali, Rwanda

The Eastern Africa Greens Federation successfully trained member parties on elections and campaigns and held a women training workshop in Kigali, Rwanda from 13th to 16th 2016. These events were hosted by the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda.

Most participants confessed that the training was very relevant and greatly enhanced their skills in campaigning and elections winning.

EAGF also had an ordinary congress, which immediately took place after the training. The congress approved new members: Afro-greens Party of Kenya and Burundi Green Movement.

Académie Verte et 4ème Congrès de la FéPEV-RAO

Les membres de la Fédération des Partis Écologistes et Verts d'Afrique de l'Ouest (FéPEV-RAO) ont tenu leur Académie Verte et leur 4ème congrès statutaire du 15 au 18 décembre à Niamey (Niger).

L'académie Verte qui s'est ouverte le 15 décembre a permis un renforcement des capacités des participants venus du Burkina Faso, du Mali, su Sénégal, de la Côte d'Ivoire, du Togo et du Niger avec quatre communications aussi importantes et instructives les unes que les autres et présentées par d’éminentes personnalités.
